We’ve lost half our chickens in the last few days. Kevin keeps finding dead ones in their run, in the Martin (a corn crib we let them into during the day), and in their new and old pen. Then this morning, we found two more, IN THEIR HOUSE! Whatever it is that is attacking them Carry on!
The Yumminess:Aviana and I made these most delicious Rhubarb Muffins yesterday. They also have a sweet farm fresh background. Being on a “healthy kick”, I added a couple tablespoons of flax seed, halved the sugar and used 2/3 whole wheat flour instead of all white. They were still terrific, but I did notice not as Carry on!
We moved our chicks out of our basement into their new home last night. Here you can see them in their Huggies box transport, my dad waiting for the chick caravan and the chicks getting acclimated after being unceremoniously dumped out. They don’t stay little long! Kind of like little girls. After popping the girls Carry on!
Hmmm…what’s that? Oh, new baby tzitcks! Tool! Day’re so wittwle! Tan I pet one? (This is a baby New Hampshire Red.) Oh, it’s sooo fwuffy! (This is a baby Barred Rock)
*So the other day when Brielle threw up all night? That was just the beginning. Kevin had a go Thursday night, and it was Aviana’s turn yesterday. We were at the playground when it all started. At a school. With ‘rubber mulch’ as a ground cover. Which means so no rocks or wood mulch to Carry on!
Furs has a new exercise ball. She motates all around the house in it. The hardest part is keeping Brielle from speeding her up. Guinea pigs don’t like to be upside down for some strange reason.
I’ve found out some interesting things–Reading:It does that for ya. I’ve finished reading the most comprehensive homeschooling book I’ve ever read, and now have some books on hold at the library that were recommended therein. Following her chapters on gifted children, I took an IQ quiz on the internet–which I’ve never done before. I was Carry on!
our new guinea pig. I went to Petco for a betta… Aviana named her Furs, and the betta Swimmer.
My dad came for a visit today. We had fun chats, and enjoyed playing with Gypsy, the new Hunting Poodle. She is a cutie. She was about the right size for Aviana, a little too much enery for Brielle, and Abbey, the ancient Daschund we are sitting for the month, hated her and showed more Carry on!
