Then we ended up having to grab lunch at a convenience store, as there weren’t any real restaurants in any of the small towns. We went to spend afternoon at the Hennepin Canal Visitor Center. It’s just one of those sweet little places to go–this one had native animals on display, a marsh diarama, real animal skulls and bones the girls can touch, among other hands-on nature exhibits, and a model of an old fashioned barge on the canal. Kevin thinks it is just a fascinating story.

Aviana’s take: We saw animals that were real, but not alive.
Gigi: Oh you mean like stuffed?
Aviana: Yeah.
Gigi: What else did you do?
Aviana: We went for a walk
Gigi: Did you do anything else?
Aviana: No.
