Snow Day

Despite my telling her about the dire cold, Aviana was dying to go outside and play. I put on Aviana’s snowpants, coat, hat, mittens, scarf and boots. All the time, she is so excited she can hardly hold still. She is continually asking to go throw snowballs, build snowmen and play in the snow. We finally got outside, I took three pictures, and then she said, “HOLD YOU! It’s too told!” It was much better to watch the snow from inside!

When the sun came out in the afternoon, Aviana noticed the “blue snow” that the shadow of the house made. Amazing observation.

Many of the area schools were cancelled today due to the cold, blowing snow and ice. Kevin asked me, while I was holding Brielle and helping Aviana with something, “Do you wish you were still teaching, so you could have the day off?”

Umm…wouldn’t it be just like this?

  1. Hey Jessica,
I am at school and bored today (should be grading but not in the mood) Loved your comments about the snow, I remember it so well when my girls were little. It would take forever to bundle up and then we were out for maybe 10 minutes.
I do want to point out that there was one school in the area that still had school that day. Yep, us. It was so hard to leave the girls that morning and go to work. I wanted to stay and play also.
