I have yet to take a decent pic of both babies as Aviana is hardly ever still and Brielle is hardly ever awake (not that I’m complaining, mind you!) Aviana LOVES to play photo studio. She tells me “white up, foot stool there, picture take”. She only wants to have her picture taken, however and doesn’t want to share the limelight with her sister. Big surprise.
We had Brielle weighed and measured and she is 8 pounds 6 ounces *up a pound and 5 ounces from birth in 10 days!!* and 20 1/2 inches long (which is up an INCH, so I think they must have made a mistake in the hospital measuring her as I have a hard time believing she has grown an INCH!) She will marathon nurse and then sleep for 2-3 hours at a time. We are thanking God that she is so far not a fussy baby.
I am feeling MUCH, MUCH better. We have even had company over the last couple of days and it didn’t wear me out too awfully much. Aviana has been really well behaved and hasn’t had one accident! I have 11 pounds to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I’d like to lose about 20. I better lay off the M&M’s in that case 😉 We’ve had a couple of outings too-at the library I checked out some really good books and will have some time to read tomorrow as Miss A is going over to Grandma’s. I am re-reading the Mitford series (highly recommended!)right now and checked out Supernanny(which I already started and is quite validating, although I haven’t yet learned anything really new), The Rapture, and Country Shortcuts. I got all the laundry in the whole house washed, dried, folded and put away. Of course that was before Aviana wet her bed during her nap, and before Brielle threw up all over herself and me, and before Kevin came in from a hard day’s work out in the muckiness that is a farm.
I’ve resigned myself to having to call my husband Daddy, all the time. What I had been doing was calling him Daddy when talking about him to Aviana, and calling him Kevin when talking to him. Well, now Aviana says “hey Tevin!” or “Tevin want that!” or uses his first name in any number of situations. It always makes us laugh, but we really shouldn’t let our two year old call her father by his first name, right?
Other Aviana-isms: frozen fruit barb (for bar), bussies (bundies-her undies). I’ll have to come back and edit this because there are several that I want to always remember, but I can’t even think of them right now!
