It’s all fun and games

I think I have a Pictionary hangover.

Have I mentioned how much I love to play games? It’s one of my favorite things in the world. Last night we went over to a friends’ for a Pictionary party. It was an awesome group. Amazingly, the girls lost to the guys, but it certainly wasn’t due to a lack of volume!

I made a new dip to take over there; it got rave reviews. I started out with an actual recipe to follow, but realized I didn’t have any of the ingredients for it, so I invented my own.

Sweet Onion Dip

1 sweet onion, chopped
2 cups Miracle Whip
2 cups shredded cheese (I used fancy shredded Colby-Jack, a personal fave)
1 envelope Italian dressing mix

Combine all ingredients, place in 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 1/2 an hour. Serve with crackers–I used Triscuits Thin Crisps. DE-lish!

We had some new sitters which was also fun. The other night at the Grain Marketing Meeting, we were sitting next to a neighbor farmer. He’s out of school a couple of years, so younger than us, married a year and a half, no kids yet. I was telling Kevin I was disappointed to not be able to attend the party because no one could babysit (my mom, his mom, my cousin–I don’t really trust teenagers yet). Kevin said, joking, “Well, maybe Ben could babysit. Want to babysit Saturday night, Ben?”

And Ben said, “Probably, let me call my wife.” !! He called her right then, and they agreed to it!

So when we got home, we played a couple of rounds of The Newlywed Game. We won by one question.

I just love fun and games (and onion dip!)

  1. What a fun night! I love game night with friends, we hardly ever do that anymore though! Too many kids…maybe we should get a babysitter!

Glad you had such a great time.
