How to murder a classic poem

‘Twas a random Wednesday in a house covered with toys,
Not a creature was stirring, except Cadrian’s noise

The babe’s on the floor, with a toy that he found
He’s having some tummy time and crawling around

He mostly crawls backwards, which is not what he wants
so he needs to accompany it with bear growls and big grunts.

We had a great morning, hosted a semi-brunch for some friends
But like all things delightful, it eventually ends

We ate Hooty Creek Cookies, fruit and monkey bread
All sorts of yumminess for my waistline to dread

A ‘new’ friend came too; we ‘met’ on the ‘net
She’s wonderful, but never in real life had we yet met.

Now Mama’s at the ‘puter, ignoring her chores
like doing the dishes and sweeping the floors.

I plan to shop a bit, then snuggle up and kick back-
I want to finish a “can’t put it down’ book, The Shack

I also need to make some sort of plan for our dinner;
I guess if all else fails grilled cheese and soup is a winner.

For now, I must leave you and attend to my life
and being a mom and a ‘perfect’ housewife

But I wish you the best as I go on my way,
Happy Wednesday to all, and to all a good day!

  1. Cadrian’s adorable. I love his backwards crawling! Is the shack good? I haven’t heard much about it. BTW, I love reading your blog, I just found it a few weeks ago.

  2. McMommy is hosting a contest for a $25 Target giftcard for someone to make up funny words to that story!!! You should enter yours!

I’m reading The Shack, too! It’s intense. I was bawling, BAWLING, my eyes out. Like snotty bawling. I’m only about halfway through. I had to put it down for a few days! LOL! He just returned to The Shack and is hanging out with the Trinity.

  3. Cadrian is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!! Okay, he makes me “boy hungry”. I want a boy now! LOL! I love his little baby noises. Elaina crawled when she was 5 months. He’s an early crawler like her! Just an eager beaver to get around, huh?!
