Great News in the Email

1.This li’l old site that I started just as a form of therapy for myself and so my ‘rents could see pics of their grands has been nominated in a contest. With prizes. Like money!

Like my old grandma used to say, “Well, knock me over with a feather!” A huge ThankYou and a big ol’ hug and kiss to whoever nominated me.

If you care to vote for me, you can do so here:

2. I got an email from someone at MomSelect telling me they will send me a brand new baby swing. They want my vital input. Apparently, “(their) product designers use feedback from moms just like (me) during the development process, so (my) opinions and insights will be incredibly valuable.” I’m very excited to replace our $15 garage sale swing, so whatever they have to send me will be most welcome!

3. I was also selected to review a couple of books for adolescent girls. If you have one, or know any, have I got the deal for you! These are already popular books in England, and are now available to Americans for the first time. I haven’t had a chance to read them both yet, but I am going to send them to a lucky commenter. Comment on any post between now and September 20th, and you will be entered to win both books.

What a perfect time to leave your first comment…(hint, hint)

I’m going to leave this up as the first post until September 20, so be sure to read below for new Farm Fresh Family Fun. Or Fiascos.

However the wind blows us.

  1. Gotta love product testing. I have tested many items, including diapers. Was always thrilled to receive a free package of diapers, however that has been 7 years ago. Have fun testing

  2. Teen girls?? Yeah I got em! My girls are 18, 16, 13 and 10. We have homeschooled for 12 years and had our first graduate this Spring. I always said it’s easier to nurse one and school the other than it is to drive them to school! Can’t nurse and do that!! Really though, we are close and they are closer than they would have been if they had been separated 40 hours a week. Its a blessing to be home with your little ones teaching them. Have fun and enjoy the journey.

  3. Product testing is FUN!!! Except the people that sent me product to test never got back with me even after I contacted them multiple times??? WEIRD! They sent me the product but didn’t follow up.

Anyway, have fun!!! Can’t wait to see your reviews!

  4. I voted for you!! I sure hope you win!! I’ll have to go find those books since I live in the Colorado Rockies — well at the base anyway but I look at them and they have snow today but I can’t see them because we are having too much rain and all I want to do is go home and cuddle under a blankie and read. (How’s that for the longest sentence of the day?!?)

  5. I just wanted to leave a comment to say how adorable your blog is–I feel like I jumped ship to my past. My sister and I grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota and when we look at old pics we are always half-naked with our rubber boots on–I saw a pic on your blog a little while back that was very similar:) I wouldn’t trade my childhood for anything and while I’m sure there are some tough days (my mom never lets us forget!!!)I can assure you your kids will look back and realize how lucky they were.

Hello Jessica, Just wanted to let you know you won my breakfast Challenge. I used the random integer generator because I just could not choose and it picked you number. So, contact me so I can get some info on what style of earrings you would like! Congrats!

  7. My daughter is nearly 9 but I still feel I need all the help I can get, so I am leaving you a comment. The only product testing I did was many years ago and involved tasting new varieties of biscuits. That was most enjoyable.

  8. That was really neat…congratulations! Looks like I have to sign-up to vote. Those horse books look great! We are going to start reading the Little House on the Prairie together.
