I am thankful for my family…brother, sister, their spouses, aunts, uncles, cousins…I don’t feel like I’m a part of their daily lives; we all live with distance between us and busy days. Some, I don’t really even know very well. It is amazing though, how much of an influence they have on me even so, how loved I feel when we do have a chance to get together. I really like Facebook for the mundane updates that let me know a detail or two I would never otherwise have ben privy to.
I am thankful for Kevin’s family. His mom is an amazing blessing to us. She watches the kids for me on a regular basis. It’s wonderful when she says, “Want me to keep the boys tomorrow while you take the girls to ballet?” Or, “Shall I take somebody home with me?” She is generous with her time and talents (one of which is baking!). I love hearing Denton say “Amma’s house” in his sweet little baby voice. I am thankful that his sister is back in the area after many years away. I am glad that we have the chance to build relationship with her.
Family. God created us within our families for a purpose, to give us opportunity to grow, to rub off the ugly edges. Family. So grateful God gave me these people to help shape me into the woman He created me to be.
