I am thankful for my parents.
I am thankful for the sense of humor they have bequeathed me, for the compassion they’ve taught me by example and the love they generously spread around.
I am thankful they live nearby and make us a priority in their lives, both to see us just to hang out and to help when they can. My dad brought all his gear over today, including his grooming table so we could trim our new dog. My mom and dad spend time with each of the chiddlers, just giving them the one-on-one attention they crave and is so hard to come by in this stage of life. My dad is keeping the boys for us while we go to Chicago at the end of the month to celebrate ten years of wedded bliss, while my mom has to work. My mom listens to my life. They notice. They care.
I am so blessed to have them and thank God for them.
