I am so thankful for my husband. He is the one who one hundred percent supports me in our adventure in parenting. Tonight I called him one hundred percent fed up. I said without preamble, “I am going to go to the store by myself.” He had a lot of questions, legitimately, like “right now?” and “will you be bringing home dinner?” At the time, I was frustrated and my head was full of useless information brought to me in the sound of happy cricket voices. I got frustrated with his questions and essentially hung up on him.
But as soon as he was done with chores, he charged in on his white steed ready to save the day (OK maybe not the steed part), ready to feed and bed our babes all by himself after a long day outside. After having a tractor break down, dousing him in diesel fuel, and a hefty hike back to the shop to get what he needed for parts–he was willing to give me time by myself before he even showered.
Grateful doesn’t even begin to cut it.
Relish life with the spouse you love
Each and every day of your precarious life.
Each day is God’s gift. It’s all you get in exchange
For the hard work of staying alive.
Make the most of each one!
Whatever turns up, grab it and do it. And heartily!
Ecclesiastes 9:8-9 (MSG)
He is a good Handsome Husband…
A hero to the rescue. I remember times like that when you just need to be alone, without children! ♥
