You can be a part of determining the New Seven Wonders of the World–not only that, but by being a part of the voting process, you’ll learn a bit about the world at large as a bonus. Choices in the running for the seven world wonders include Machu Picchu in Peru, the Statue of Liberty, Christ Redeemer in Brazil, and the Roman Colosseum. The results will be announced seven-seven-oh-seven.
And I think this is pretty funny, although it isn’t a joke. You can submit your choices for the 8 wonders of Kansas! Yes, Kansas. What, you didn’t know Kansas had wonders? You are sadly misinformed, friend. Just look at a few of the plethora of choices: such as Big Brutus in Cherokee County, a 16-story high coal-mining shovel; the giant ball of twine in Cawker City, Chicken Annie’s, and Chicken Mary’s!
Not that I’m knocking Kansas, (well, maybe just a little…) Iowa isn’t having a competition for wonders of any sort!
And in case you’re wanting to educate yourself on the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, all you really need to know can be found here.
