A Favorite Thing

It’s a history book. It’s a cookbook. It has beautiful pictures. It has loads of traditional recipes from all over the country. Most recipes have a fun little blurb of the story behind the dish. I LOVE this cookbook. What could be better than some background of our great nation in the context of food? Not much, to my way of thinking. You really should look into it.

  1. I have an older version of that cookbook with antique illustrations instead of pictures of the foods. Great recipes, and I love the stories behind the foods.

Another one you might like is the “Good Old Days” in the Kitchen cookbook, edited by Ken and Janice Tate. It reads like the “Good Old Days” magazine if you’ve ever read that. Great old recipes for things from years gone by.
